Is Butcher Box Worth it?

By just considering the price, it might seem that Butcher Box might not be worth it. However, adding the Free Meat from monthly promotions, the accessibility of quality organic meat (special cuts that are hard to find in local stores) and the flexibility  of having great quality meat delivered to your door steps, make Butcher Box worth it for most people.

Main Complaint – Butcher Box prices are too high

The main complaint I see, is that you don’t get enough meat for the price you pay or the meat is not enough for a whole month. When comparing with other delivery companies of organic meat, the price per pound is around the same. However, since Butcher Box advertises that their boxes contain meat for a whole month, people usually expect just that: enough meat for meals for a whole month. However, most of the time, unless the box is for a single person, it will probably not last a whole month. Customers that use and try Butcher Box are often on diets that use high amounts of meat, sometimes eating meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Therefore, 8 pounds of meat might be consumed in a week or less, depending how many people will enjoy the meals; It can become expensive. You might end up spending a lot more on meat than you are used to. So, if you are eating a lot of meat and feed a lot of people, you might need to try the Curated Big Box or Custom Big Box.

Even though their box prices seem high, Butcher Box offers great monthly promotions to first time customers and its members, offsetting the perceived high cost. For example, for a $25 one time fee, members previously had an opportunity to choose to receive FREE Ground Beef or Free Bacon-FOR LIFE.

Another benefit that makes Butcher Box worth it in spite of their price, is that they offer different cuts of meat that are very hard to find in the grocery stores, cuts which are organic and/or grass-fed grass-finished. For example, organic chicken wings or grass-fed sirloin steaks might be hard to find locally.

Convenience is another benefit that offsets the higher prices. Butcher Box is great for busy, time-constrainted individuals, that would benefit from the convenience of having quality meat delivered to their door. However, Butcher Box might not be worth it for individuals that are on a budget and have time to search for quality meat locally.

In spite of all the complaints, almost everyone agreed that the Butcher Box meat is delicious and very good quality.

If you are still on the fence of trying Butcher Box , you could try it for one month ( since you can cancel any time) and see if it is something that benefits you or your family. Also, who doesn’t want FREE Bacon FOR LIFE?
